2025 Celtic Canter 5K
Join us on Saturday, March 8, 2025, for the 14th Annual Celtic Canter 5k in historic downtown Westminster, Maryland. Founded in 2011 by Gallagher & Kuhn Dental Group and O’Lordan’s Irish Pub, in coordination with the City of Westminster, this event has become a cherished tradition celebrating Irish heritage and supporting local charities.
Event Details
- Celtic Canter 5K: The race begins at 9:00 AM, starting and finishing at the Irish Festival on Main Street. Registration includes a long-sleeve t-shirt (with option to upgrade to a hooded sweatshirt for an additional $20), a post-race beverage (beer for participants 21 and over or bottled water), refreshments, and an awards ceremony.
- Leprechaun Chase 1-Mile Fun Run: Perfect for children 12 and under, this run starts at 10:15 AM. All participants will receive a race number and a participation medal. After the race, kids can enjoy the Kids’ Kingdom with Irish games, crafts, and entertainment.
- 0.5K (Don’t Miss the Point!): A lighthearted event starting at 11:00 AM, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Irish Festival
From 8:00 AM to Noon, the Irish Festival will feature live music, vendors, and activities for children. Following the festival, a pub crawl will take place from Noon to 4:00 PM, with free trolley transportation available until 5:00 PM.
Benefiting Local Charities
Proceeds from the Celtic Canter support Access Carroll and Target Community and Educational Services organizations dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the Westminster Community.
About the Founder
Dr. Patrick Gallagher, co-founder of the Celtic Canter, has been serving the dental needs of Carroll County residents for over two decades at Gallagher & Kuhn Dental Group. His commitment to the community extends beyond dentistry, as evidenced by his role in establishing this annual event that celebrates Irish culture and supports local causes.
